Fylde occurs as local government district with borough status in Lancashire, England. Its council headquarters come around St Annes, with a bit of council departments located in Kirkham. Fylde borough was formed in April 1, 1974 by the merger of the borough of Lytham, Kirkham urban district, & Fylde Rural District.
Fylde is as well a title of the peninsula on which the Fylde borough is placed. Towns on the peninsula include Blackpool, Fleetwood, Thornton-Cleveleys, Poulton-le-Fylde and Lytham St Annes.
